ARIES COMPOSERS FESTIVAL 2018
    CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS AND LECTURE RECITALS

    February 11-13, 2018

    ​Fort Collins, Colorado

    The Aries Composers Festival invites proposals for presentations from percussionists, composers, contemporary music specialists, music theorists, musicologists, and other researchers interested in contemporary art music.  Proposals should conform to the following guidelines:

    1. Duration: max. 20 minutes

    2. Presentations should be relevant to the following areas of research: 

    -Contemporary music for percussion
    -Contemporary performance and/or writing techniques for percussion 
    -Collaborative works for percussion and other instruments/media
    -The composer/performer relationship in contemporary percussion music
    -Lecture recitals demonstrating topics relevant to contemporary percussion
    -Business/industry topics related to contemporary percussion music.

    3. All submissions should be made online.

    5. All submissions should consist of an abstract (250 words), a brief biography (200 words), and contact information.

    4. Supporting documents are encouraged, but not required.  All supporting documents should be in .pdf, .doc. or .docx file formats.

    5. A projector and sound system is available for all presentations.  Any additional equipment needed should be listed in a supporting document and submitted with the rest of the proposal.

    7. Submissions will be selected by the Colorado State University music faculty.  All decisions are final.  Submission deadline is October 1, 2017. Selected presenters will be notified no later that December 1, 2017.

    8. If your submission is selected you must agree to attend the festival.  Colorado State University will not provide any travel funding for participating presenters.
